On September 30, 2022, the workshop "New State of European Nanotechnologies and Nanosafety Research in the Green Transition Period" was held for teachers, bachelors, masters, graduate students and scientists (22 participants).

The introductory speech was delivered by prof. Kostiantyn Dyadyura, spoke about the possibilities of the Jean Monet direction of the Erasmus+ activities to support the Ukrainian academic community. The webinar also presented "Basic guidelines for nanosafety in the laboratory (for students, postgraduates, researchers and managers conducting experimental research using and/or synthesizing nanomaterials)".

On December 23, 2022, the first students defended their master's theses of program subject area 131 "Applied Mechanics", the educational program "Mechanical Engineering Technologies" and program subject area 133 "Industrial Mechanical Engineering", the educational program "Metal Cutting Machines and Systems". Some of the students defended their master's thesis in English.

On September 30, 2022, the workshop «State of the art in European nanotechnology and nanosafety research in the period of the green transition» was organized as a part of the implementation of the grant project ERASM US-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH EUNanoGreen - 101047940. Detailed descriptions and the program of this event can be found at the partner link, which supports the implementation of project ideas.

The project team is pleased to announce a call for mini-grants for research groups of PhD students/young researchers within the project «Enhancement of the Phd Students Potential for Qualitative Research in Ukraine» (August-December 2022), funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Young scientists (postgraduate students) can apply for a grant for their research activities in multidisciplinary scientific teams.

The importance of training engineers for Ukraine is undeniable in the context of the current situation in the country. Engineers are the driving force of any technical system or production process.

On the initiative of ESD Consortium Aichi, Japan International Cooperation Agency, representatives of universities and industrial companies of Aichi Prefecture (Japan), a meeting with representatives of Sumy State University was held on August 6, 2022.

Students of the department successfully presented scientific papers to the commission in co-authorship with students and under the guidance of colleagues from European universities-partners. Close cooperation with the Poznań University of Technology (Poland), the Technical University of Košice (Slovakia), and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania) in recent years allows the development of actual areas of mechanical engineering.

According to the tasks of the realization of the international educational grant project Jean Monnet Actions under ERASMUS+ Programme ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH EUGreeCon - 101047527 of «EU consumer policy in conditions of the green and digital transition», the thematic webinar was held on June 6, 2022 at the Department of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Biomolecular Engineering. The webinar was attended by students of the Medical Institute and teachers of the department.  In obedience to the topic of the grant project Prof. Kostiantyn DYADURA made the report on "Requirements of European legislation on the safety of medical devices".

Online defenses of diploma projects of bachelors in program subject area «Applied Mechanics», the educational program «Mechanical Engineering Technologies» and program subject area «Industrial Mechanical Engineering», the educational program «Metal Cutting Machines and Systems» were successfully completed this week.
