February 26, 2024 Ass. Prof. Hrebenik L.I. gave a lecture for English-speaking 2nd-year students of the SumDU Medical Institute. The lecture topic is "Safety of nanotechnologies in medicine." The lecture contained material on the safe use of nanomaterials for medical purposes. Main questions of the lecture: the basic objectives of the European Green Deal, nanoparticles of natural and artificial origin, safe use of nanomaterials in medicine, nanoparticles for drug delivery, and methods for assessing the safety of nanomaterials. This lecture was read as the part of the realisation of EU funding programme ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH 101047940 «Responsible development of nanosafety as the contribution to the European Green Deal»

On May 10, 2023, Prof. Vitalii IVANOV, head of the department, at the invitation of FlexSim InterMarium Sp z o.o., met with the company's management in Krakow (Poland). During the working meeting, the results of implementing the software in training students in the educational programs "Mechanical Engineering Technologies" and "Metal Cutting Machines and Systems" were discussed. The company's president, Dr. Witold CEMPEL, emphasized that the company always supports university initiatives and is ready to provide comprehensive support for improving engineering education.

The Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies initiated the "Engineer 5.0" international virtual academic mobility program aimed at PhD degree holders in educational programs 132 Materials Science, 133 Industrial Engineering, 161 Chemical Technologies and Engineering. The program is implemented within the framework of international cooperation with the Poznań University of Technology (Poland), Košice Technical University (Slovak Republic), Łódź University of Technology (Poland), and Yildiz Technical University (Turkey).

As part of implementing the grant project ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH EUNanoGreen - 101047940 with the support of the NGO "Center for Security Assessment of Prospective Technologies" (CSAET) March 28, 2023, the conference "European approaches to nanosafety in the green economy" (21 participants) was conducted. The online meeting was aimed at increasing students'; awareness about European approaches to nanosafety in the field of occupational safety and ethical, legal, and social aspects of the development of EU nanotechnology; improving the level of critical competencies and skills in nanotechnology safety; creating conditions for the motivation for further learning, including in European countries.

The conference materials is avaible on the NGO CSAET website.

Dear friends and colleagues!

We want to share with you the joy of our achievements. Recently, according to the results of summarizing the results of the rating of the structural divisions of Sumy State University, the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Machines and Tools took second place in the overall university ranking out of 41 graduation departments. This achievement was the best result in the entire existence of the department. But, it would not have been possible without the coordinated and fruitful work of students, staff, the management of the department, our friends, and partners! We express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to this result. Next year with our joint efforts, we will be able to conquer new heights!

As part of the implementation of the Grant Project ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH EUNanoGreen - 101047940 "Responsible development of nanosafety as the contribution to the European Green Deal", the 3rd year student of theMedical Institute of Sumy State University Dmytro Ohienko took part in the work of the II regional student scientific - of the practical conference "Environmental safety in the conditions of the global economic crisis" (Ukraine, Cherkasy Medical Academy, October 27, 2022) with the report "Environmentally safe synthesis of silver nanoparticles for medical purposes" (scientific advisor: Associate Professor Liudmyla Нrebenyk). Abstracts of the report are available at the link.

As part of the implementation of the grant project within the framework of the EUgreeCon project of the EU Erasmus+ program in accordance with Grant Agreement No. 101047527, the idea of an analytical study was implemented, which is outlined in the article:
