On May 10, 2023, Prof. Vitalii IVANOV, head of the department, at the invitation of FlexSim InterMarium Sp z o.o., met with the company's management in Krakow (Poland). During the working meeting, the results of implementing the software in training students in the educational programs "Mechanical Engineering Technologies" and "Metal Cutting Machines and Systems" were discussed. The company's president, Dr. Witold CEMPEL, emphasized that the company always supports university initiatives and is ready to provide comprehensive support for improving engineering education.

The special attention of the meeting was focused on new opportunities provided by the company and building a roadmap for further cooperation. As the director of international cooperation Krystian KOGUT noted, Sumy State University is a strategic partner, and we are finding new support tools, which is especially important right now during martial law.

A separate direction of the meeting was the presentation of a new book developed by Krzysztof Andrzej JURCZYK. Vitalii IVANOV said: "I am happy to accept the new book and hand it over to the library of Sumy State University so that our students can access the latest educational resources."

Meaningful discussions with vice-president Dawid DABAL and engineer Patryk ZUCHOWICZ regarding the role of simulation of production processes and virtual simulators for modern mechanical engineering will contribute to implementing such approaches in the engineering education of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Machines and Tools, in particular the above-mentioned educational programs.

We will remind you that the first acquaintance with the FlexSim software took place back in 2019 during the implementation of the Erasmus+ academic mobility program. Then Dr. Sławomir Luściński from the Kielce University of Technology (Poland) gave an educational course on the functionality of FlexSim for mechanical engineering.
