February 29, 2024 Roundtable debate for students-participants of the annual summer school for specialty "Biomedical Engineering" organized by Odesa National Polytechnic University (Odesa, Ukraine).

Agenda - Green Deal Materials. New Chemicals Strategy towards a toxic-free environment. Nanomaterials in REACH and CLP.

The Roundtable debate was dedicated to the European Green Deal with an emphasis on the greening of EU policy and a set of measures aimed at turning Europe into a climate-neutral continent by 2050. Special attention was focused on the consequences of careless treatment of natural resources and damage from the uncontrolled use of chemical industry products, including nanomaterials. The lecture outlined the main directions of the EU chemical strategy, REACH and CLP regulation regarding the development, production, and disposal of nanomaterials. In the context of the discussed issues, the Strategy for Ukraine's transition to a sustainable chemical industry was discussed.
